28 for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures s that the Christ was Jesus.
12 For w the word of God is living and x active, y sharper than any z two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and a discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
18 c Of his own will he d brought us forth by the word of truth, e that we should be a kind of f firstfruits of his creatures.
7 o The law of the Lord is perfect, [1]
p reviving the soul;
q the testimony of the Lord is r sure,
s making wise t the simple;
8 u the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is v pure,
w enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules [2] of the Lord are x true,
and righteous altogether.
4 For x whatever was written in former days was written for our y instruction, that through endurance and through z the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
