2 y You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you.
7 o The law of the Lord is perfect, [1]
p reviving the soul;
q the testimony of the Lord is r sure,
s making wise t the simple;
8 u the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is v pure,
w enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules [2] of the Lord are x true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than y gold,
even much z fine gold;
a sweeter also than honey
and drippings of b the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
c in keeping them there is great reward.
20 c To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no d dawn.
30 u Now Jesus did many other signs v in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 w but these are written so that you may x believe that Jesus is the Christ, y the Son of God, and that by believing z you may have life a in his name.
11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, x examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
15 and how a from childhood you have been acquainted with b the sacred writings, c which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 d All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that e the man of God [3] may be competent, f equipped g for every good work.
