6 And f these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 g You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 h You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 i You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
17 The Lord said, c “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,
5 He established p a testimony in q Jacob
and appointed a law in q Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach to their children,
6 that r the next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
7 so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget s the works of God,
but t keep his commandments;
