4 w But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, e “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

44 z You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. a He was a murderer from the beginning, and b has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. c When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

3 But I am afraid that q as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts r will be led astray from a s sincere and t pure devotion to Christ.
