25 Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, l so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! m Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?”
6 The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, d “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and e gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast f love and faithfulness, 7 g keeping steadfast love for thousands, [1] h forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but i who will by no means clear the guilty, j visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
13 before the Lord, for he comes,
for he comes w to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
and the peoples in his faithfulness.
5 But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict f wrath on us? (g I speak in a human way.)
26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
