32 He will be great and will be called the Son of h the Most High. And the Lord God i will give to him the throne of j his father David,
11 j from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel. And k I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover, the Lord declares to you that l the Lord will make you a house. 12 m When your days are fulfilled and n you lie down with your fathers, o I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 p He shall build a house for my name, and q I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
16 u And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. [1] u Your throne shall be established forever.’”
6 u For to us a child is born,
to us v a son is given;
w and the government shall be x upon [3] his shoulder,
and his name shall be called [4]
Wonderful y Counselor, z Mighty God,
a Everlasting b Father, Prince of c Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace
d there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
e with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
f The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
5 y then a throne will be established in steadfast love,
and on it will sit in faithfulness
in the tent of David
one who judges and seeks justice
and is swift to do righteousness.”
30 x Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that y God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,
