8 They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, [1] and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.
9 And Nehemiah, who was e the governor, and Ezra f the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, g “This day is holy to the Lord your God; h do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law.
32 And now a I commend you to God and to b the word of his grace, which is able to c build you up and to give you d the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him u of whom they have never heard? [2] And how are they to hear v without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, w “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But x they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, y “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So z faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
15 and how a from childhood you have been acquainted with b the sacred writings, c which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 d All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that e the man of God [3] may be competent, f equipped g for every good work.
