20 For y by works of the law no human being [1] will be justified in his sight, since z through the law comes knowledge of sin.
2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but u not before God.
4 Now w to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.
6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
8 For z by grace you have been saved a through faith. And this is b not your own doing; c it is the gift of God, 9 d not a result of works, e so that no one may boast.
5 he saved us, e not because of works done by us in righteousness, but f according to his own mercy, by g the washing of regeneration and h renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he i poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that j being justified by his grace we might become k heirs l according to the hope of eternal life.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time n are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
j I have no good apart from you.”
