8 But you, Israel, y my servant,
Jacob, z whom I have chosen,
the offspring of Abraham, a my friend;
9 you whom I took from the ends of the earth,
and called b from its farthest corners,
saying to you, “You are y my servant,
z I have chosen you and not cast you off”;
10 z “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and a my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
b Before me no god was formed,
nor shall there be any after me.
